Saturday 15 April AGM and lunch

Wednesday 17 May
Visit to the Churnet Valley Railway (Ride on the Moorlander Breakfast train) Wednesday 17th May. Thomas Brassey was very busy building railways in Staffordshire during the 19 century and Ian Walker, our Excursions Coordinator, has come up with this interesting little trip which is sure to please many of you. The Churnet Valley and its railway is a delightful part of the world, recognised in one of the Ealing Comedy classics, The Titfield Thunderbolt with Sid James and Stanley Holloway. Froghall Station is about 1 1/4 hours from Chester by road (post code ST102HA). Ian is suggesting that we meet at the CVR Froghall Station to join the first train of the day leaving at 10.30 am and enjoy a lovely breakfast (a varied menu is available) on board during the round trip. Afterwards there will be time for another round trip or a part trip visiting the workshops. Cost of this Day Rover ticket including breakfast is £28.50 per person. Bar facilities available and free Parking at Froghall.
Ian would like to do some advance booking as a group and therefore needs to know by 31st March definite.
